Ten steps to glass skin
Korean skin care is becoming more and more popular and not without reason. K-Beauty products are increasingly showing their excellent results. Are you new to Korean skin care and don't you know where to start? You are not alone! The ten steps to a glass skin are explained here.
Step 1. Oil cleaner
An oil cleanser removes make-up, sunscreen and excess sebum. Many oil cleansers remove blackheads and leave your face glowing. It is important to cleanse your skin with an oil or cream cleanser to remove all impurities.
Apply the product to your face as the first step in your skincare. Apply it to dry skin and rub it in for a few minutes. Then rinse it off with lukewarm water. It is best to use the oil cleanser daily only in the evening.
Step 2. Water-based cleaner
After the first step, some impurities and sometimes residue from the oil cleanser remain. You can remove this with the water-based cleaner. It is important to use a cleanser that does not dry out your skin and hydrates your face.
Rub a small amount of the product into your hands and make sure it starts to foam slightly. Then gently apply it to your face. Then rinse again. Use the water-based cleanser in the morning and evening every day.
Step 3. Exfoliant
Exfoliants remove blackheads, dead skin cells and flakes. This makes the skin look cleaner and more even.
Apply the product to your face and neck and let it absorb for ten minutes. Do not rinse it off. It is best not to use an exfoliant too often, otherwise it can cause irritation and red skin. That is why it is best to use it only once or a maximum of twice a week. This of course also depends on the strength of the product.
Step 4. Toner
A toner helps restore the PH value of the skin. Korean toners generally do not contain alcohol-containing substances, so they do not dry out or irritate the skin. By using a toner, the products that follow are more easily absorbed by the skin.
Dab the toner onto the skin or apply it with a cotton pad. Let it soak in for a few minutes. Always use a toner after your water-based cleaner.
Step 5. Essence
An indispensable step in Korean skin care is an essence. This product is often lighter than a serum and is full of antioxidants and protective ingredients.
Apply the product all over your face and neck. Make circular movements with your fingers on your skin to allow the product to be absorbed. Continue to massage this for a few minutes and then rinse.
Step 6. Serum
Serums are personal. There are different serums for different skin problems such as acne, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, etc. In addition to serums, you also have ampoules. These are more powerful than serums and should therefore only be used once a week.
After the essence, apply the serum or ampoule to your skin. Massage this well over your entire skin. Let it work for a few minutes. Unlike ampoules, you use a serum daily either in the morning or evening or both.
Step 7. Face sheet mask
A facial sheet mask should not be missing from the Korean skin care routine. Just like serums, there are masks that focus on specific skin problems. However, you can also use them to simply hydrate your skin and make it look younger.
Use the mask once or twice a week. Follow the instructions on the package to know how to use it.
Step 8. Eye care
Because the skin around the eyes is more sensitive, the ingredients in eye creams and eye patches are often very mild. They help with fine lines, dark circles and puffiness. It also makes you look fresher.
It is best to use eye creams daily in the morning and evening. You can use eye patches once or twice a week or more if desired.
Step 9. Moisturizer
Just like the serums, there are different moisturizers. It is therefore best to use a moisturizer that seems necessary to you. This step ensures that all products melt together and form a whole. They often provide hydration to the skin.
Apply a slightly lighter moisturizer during the day every day and a slightly heavier one in the evening every day. Massage it well into the skin.
Step 10. Sunscreen
Finally, there is almost nothing more important in the Korean beauty world than using sunscreen. It protects your skin against UV rays that cause skin aging and hyperpigmentation. Use a daytime sunscreen as the last step of your routine. Use a good amount of the product and if possible repeat this throughout the day.
Following the right routine and combining the right products is very important in achieving glowing and healthy skin. However, it is also important that you consume healthy food and get enough sleep. Your skin is the result of your healthy lifestyle!
